If you’re anything like me, you love getting away.
Even if just for a short weekend getaway, my family and I love spending quality time together – especially in the great outdoors.
Born and bred in New York, I was always a city girl growing up. But, after moving to Michigan, meeting my husband and starting a family, I felt a brand-new appreciation for nature I’d never really experienced before.
I'm Rachel, a 42-year-old married mom of two and, other than my husband and my kids, I have two main passions in life.
Camping and coffee.
Now don’t get me wrong, staying in a luxury hotel with just my husband is great – awesome in fact. But my absolute favorite thing to do is pack-up our camping gear, get in the car with the kids and drive out into the wilderness and enjoy each other’s company without any distractions.
But simply packing-up and driving out into the middle of nowhere hasn’t always been this easy.Because my second passion in life, is coffee.
A self-confessed coffee addict, I can’t function properly in the morning if I don’t have a cup of freshly-brewed, hot coffee to enjoy.
And my husband is just the same.
We love nothing more than trying out new flavors, brands and brews, and simply spending time together at the end of a long day with a fresh cup of coffee in hand in one of life’s simple pleasures.
But, whilst we love our freshly-brewed coffee, we love camping and spending time with the kids outdoors even more…
…and this became a real problem for us.
Because hand-in-hand with our affection for fresh coffee came an instant dislike for the instant alternative.
Now I’m not trying to say instant coffee isn’t bad – far from it. But, at least for my husband and I, after being lucky enough to have a coffee maker at home, instant coffee just isn’t the same. Period.
And when you’re potentially hundreds, if not a thousand miles away from the nearest coffee shop when camping, enjoying our beloved freshly-brewed coffee is something we’d simply have to sacrifice to have a truly authentic experience in the great outdoors…
If you’ve stuck with me this far, I’m guessing you’re a coffee fanatic too? And the thought of spending days, even weeks, without a cup of your favorite, freshly-brewed blend just isn’t how you want to spend your morning?
Especially when embracing the great outdoors and going back to basics, I’m a firm believer that you should be entitled to at least one luxury to make the experience the best it can possibly be.
And for my husband and I, fresh coffee was just that.
For years we’d been relying solely on instant coffee granules and powders when camping, and it just wasn’t the same.
In fact, I’d even say we were feeling grumpy and irritated in the mornings, and it would take us a while to get into the swing of the day with only instant coffee to satisfy the craving.
That is, until we discovered the wonder of an outdoor portable coffee maker.
That’s right, an OUTDOOR portable coffee maker.
After spending pretty much my entire life thinking fresh coffee makers were only possible to be used indoors, both my husband and I were shocked to discover that simply wasn’t the case.
And with another camping trip already booked up in a matter of weeks, we ordered one right away…
…and we’ve never looked back.
I can honestly say this simple yet super easy-to-use portable coffee maker has completely transformed every single outdoor trip we’ve taken since purchasing it.
We no longer have to rely on powdery, instant coffee. And, when taking short journeys, are no longer forced to waste time researching where to find the nearest supply of fresh coffee!
An absolute game changer, our outdoor portable coffee maker has become an essential member of every trip we take – and the kids are now starting to enjoy coffee too.
